Food Service

food and services

Welcome to the cafeterias of Lawrence Township.

The food service staff is committed to providing a variety of nutritious, attractively prepared foods at affordable prices in a safe and sanitary environment to all our students and staff. We believe that student nutrition is an important part of the educational process and that hungry children cannot learn.

Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) 2023-2024

The MSD of Lawrence Township is implementing Community Eligibility Provision for the 2023-2024 school year. CEP means that all students enrolled in the MSD of Lawrence Township (Preschool through Grade 12) are eligible to receive healthy breakfasts and lunches daily at no charge to families. While all students will be eligible for no-cost meals, all families are highly encouraged to complete the Curriculum Materials & Supplies household application, either online or using a paper form. If a paper application is used, please return the completed application to the school.

This application may qualify some families for other educational benefits, including materials assistance, test/exam fee reduction or waiver, and eligibility for other discounts or program opportunities. It also allows our district to remain CEP eligible.

Payment

While the district utilized the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), the food service department uses a computerized meal payment program. Elementary students are issued a personal meal account with a corresponding keypad number and high school students use their student identification card. Staff is encouraged to have a meal account which can be established with the food service manager in each school. Students or staff may make prepayment for meals by the week, month, or longer through the food service manager in each school. For students, this account can be used to purchase a la carte items outside of the standard meal.

Prepayment can also be made online through our parent account management system - PayPams (see below). Payment for meals is accepted by check or cash. Prepayment is encouraged as this expedites the service to the student through the serving line, allowing more time to eat, and reduces the need for daily cash handling.

Manage PayPams Account

The PayPams system allows parents to:

  • make payments to their student's food service account

  • view an account history of what their student has purchased

  • set up automatic payments

  • receive email when their student's account balance is low

After accessing the website, parents will need to registrar on the home page and then create their username and password along with their contact information. Benefits include being able to pay from home or work any time of day or night with the money going directly into the child's account. Major credit and debit cards that are accepted include Visa, MasterCard and Discover Card. Information is confidential within the system and individual account balances will always be readily available to parents.

Lawrence Township is pleased to be able to offer this service to parents to provide convenience in keeping track of their child's food service account.
