8th Grade Head Coach: James Miller

Coach Miller has over 20 years experience coaching football here and at Craig Middle School. He is Belzer’s AVID teacher and the head girls track coach as well. Coach Miller is a graduate of IUPUI which he chose to attend in order to pursue an education degree over numerous college scholarship offers to play football. During his time as Belzer’s head coach, he has produced two undefeated seasons, most recently in 2013 and led the Bears to a MIIC championship in 2019. 

8th Grade Assistant Coach: Josh Jenkins

Coach Jenkins is in his fifth year year on the coaching staff. Coach Jenkins is a graduate of Indiana State University where he played football for the Sycamores. Coach Jenkins is a native of Indianapolis, and he played high school basketball and football at Arlington High School. He is also the head 8th grade boys basketball coach. Coach Jenkins was our 2018-2019 Coach of the Year for the Bears.

8th Grade Assistant Coach: Greg Tharpe
Coach Tharpe is a graduate of Lawrence North High School where he played basketball and football for the Wildcats. Coach Tharpe is also a member of our basketball coaching staff. He has coached football here at Belzer since 2015 and basketball since 2019.
