High Ability Program

High Ability at the middle school level is called Pre AP (Advanced Placement) which helps prepare students to take AP classes in high school. Students must meet the criteria established and be selected for this program.   These students are identified through test scores, grades, and teacher recommendations. The curriculum and program components for Language Arts, Science and Social Studies are in line with the national exemplary standards for high ability students.   In addition, students may test into Algebra in seventh or eighth grade and Geometry in eighth grade which are both high school credit courses.  Biology Honors is offered for high school credit in eighth grade as well.
