BACK TO SCHOOL EVENTS

      BELZER TOWN HALL MEETING      

 August 3: Meeting begins at 7pm - Students and families will have the chance to give input  about the direction of our school. 

 REGISTRATION

 Aug. 10 (9am to 3pm) - Aug. 11 (9am to 3pm) - Aug 12 (11am to 7pm)

 August 12: Meet the Teacher/ice cream social – family event.  Meet the PFO as part of this event as well.  (Immediately following registration at 7pm.)

 August 13:  Blazin’ to Belzer: Counselor-Coordinated Student Orientation, 10 – noon

 August 17: First day of school for students

VOLLEYBALL
Volleyball Camp: (for 7th and 8th graders only) Monday, July 26 to July 309-12 noon.

2010 Tryouts will begin on  Aug. 11 & 12 from 5:30-7:30PM and Aug. 17, 18, 19, 3-5 PM.  Questions or concerns email Coach Raymond at michaelraymond@msdlt.k12.in.us.

   BOYS AND GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY  

Practice starts on Aug 2, 3-5pm. 

Meet on the track with running gear and water bottle.  You must have a physical to participate.  Questions or concerns email Coach Love at paullove@msdlt.k12.in.us

 CHEERLEADING CLINIC

Clinic held on Monday, August 2, Tuesday, August 3, and Wednesday, August 4.   (3-5pm)

2010 Tryouts will be Thursday, August 5 for 7th graders and Friday, August 6 for 8th graders. Please attend the assigned date.  Questions or concerns email Coach Sams at rachelsams@msdlt.k12.in.us.

      TENNIS      

2010 Callout meeting - Wednesday, August 18, 2010 from 3:00 to 4:00PM in the Cafeteria.

Tryouts/Workout will begin Thursday, August 19, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00PM on the tennis courts.  Questions or concerns email Coach Garrett at jgarr1358@aol.com.

           FOOTBALL           

Belzer Summer Football Camp:  For all 7th and 8th graders.  August 9-12, Belzer Football Field, (5-7 PM) If you plan to attend, contact Belzer MS Athletic Office by August 5th.  Athletic Director: Lee Larkins - jameslarkins@msdlt.k12.in.usoffice: 317-964-6289.

Supply List

Belzer Middle School serves over 1400 students and their families in grades 7 and 8.  At Belzer we believe that all students are capable of learning.  All students have talents and gifts that are unique and useful in making our school the best it can be. It is our role as professional, caring adults to model the expected behaviors, and become lifelong learners. 

Cutting Edge Education

The Belzer staff works diligently to meet the academic and affective needs of the early adolescent.  Each student is given opportunities to develop academic talents through a variety of challenging learning experiences.  Students' social and emotional growth is fostered and encouraged within a safe and supportive environment.  Two of the many unique learning opportunities available to our students are the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program and our SMART School partnership with Roche Diagnostics.

Belzer has been named the Outstanding Middle School in the Great Lakes Region by the United States Military Academy at West Point.  This achievement was based upon quality of instructional staff, academic achievement, diversity of student population and parental involvement.

Our school supports our district-wide, award-winning "Caring About Character" initiative in which our students are taught and encouraged to follow our "Lifeskills for Building Character."
