News:
The following information is for the ImPact software testing that we will be performing on the athletes. St. Vincent is going to cover the $20 cost of the baseline test for ImPACT concussion testing. This year we will have a NEW return to play guideline for anyone exhibitiing symptoms of a concussion. The baseline test that will be performed prior to contact in their sports will be used as a baseline test for their brain. This baseline will give us guidance on how their brain is recovering and will be part of the return to play criteria. All athletes that exhibit concussion symptoms will have to be cleared by a qualified physician able to clear concussions. This is all based on new research coming out about the development of brains for children under the age of 18. We are temporarily looking at Monday August 9th from 3-5pm for testing of all football players. Any other athletes that would like testing for fall Belzer parents, can be tested after our football teams have been completed.

Football Registration/Information

7th and 8th grade football registration will be held Saturday, August 14, 2010 from 8:00 to 12:00Noon in the Main Gym.

Belzer Football Summer Camp August 9-13 from 5:00-7:00PM Players will report to the Football Field with physicals, cleats and gym shoes.

Practice will begin the week of Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 3:00 to 5:00PM on the football.

                                                             Attendance
 
 Bruins Nation will follow a strict attendance policy!!! Student/ athlete's and parents must understand that time
 management is one of the core values of an athlete overall development in sports and in life!!! There must be a
 signed note and a phone call from the student/ athlete parent in order to placed an absence as an excused
 absence and tardy. Student/ athlete's must be on the practice field properly dress and ready to compete by
 3:10 everyday.             
 No Exceptions, all acts must occur in order to be validated.
 
1. 1 unexcused absence= player missing 1 half of a football game
2. 2 unexcused absences=  player missing an entire game
3. 3 unexcused absences=  player will be suspended from team
4. 3 tardies to practice= player missing 1 half of a football game
5. 4 tardies to practice= player missing an enrite game
6. 5 tardies to practice= player missing 2 entire game
7. 6 tardies to practice= player will be suspended from team

There will be mandatory 30 minute study table before every home game and Friday team practice!!
 
 
                                              Locker Room and Equipment
 
All players are responsible for the cleaning and up keep of the locker room and their equipment. If a player loses their issued equipment they will have to pay a fee to replace that particular piece or pieces of equipment.
